Dave Dalziel - N4ICE - SK (Apr 22, 2015)

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of David (Dave) Dalziel – N4ICE.  Dave was a longtime member and friend of 14.300 MHz.  He served many years as a Net Control and Relay Station for both Intercon and the Maritime Mobile Service Network.

In March 2001, I received a MAYDAY on frequency.  There had been a solar flare earlier in the day so propagation was horrible.  It was Dave, along with several others, who helped me that afternoon as we helped the S/V Lorna after they had come under attack from pirates as they made their trek from the northeast coast of Nicaragua to Trinidad.

Dave was affectionately known as the “Ice Man”.  His presence and friendship will be missed by all.
